Our Commitment to Students, Communities, and the Future
CodeHero Foundation is a Canadian not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to Tech education for Kids and Teens (ages 7–17), Youths (18-54) and Seniors (55 & above) – especially those facing financial, social, or systemic barriers. We believe very strongly that opportunity should never depend on circumstance.
We work to close the digital opportunity gap by bringing free, accessible, high-quality Tech education to underserved and underrepresented youths across Canada. We are not an academy. We are a movement for digital equity, youth empowerment, and national innovation.
Why CodeHero Foundation Exists
CodeHero Foundation was created in response to a growing and persistent gap we observed through our work in the community.
Through CodeHero Academy, we engaged with families across Ottawa, the Southeastern Ontario corridor and the Greater Toronto Area who were eager for their children to learn Tech skills. Again and again, we met motivated students and people across diverse age range who wanted to participate but could not due to barriers such as cost, age, access to resources, or lack of local opportunities.
These experiences made one thing clear: access – not ability – was the real challenge.
Rather than turn families away, we chose to build something new.
CodeHero Foundation exists to ensure that more people can access the confidence, skills, and early exposure needed to thrive in a digital world – regardless of their socioeconomic situation or background.
Our Founding Statement
CodeHero Foundation was established in response to a gap we could no longer ignore.
Through years of community engagement in Tech education, we met children who were curious, capable, and eager to learn – but unable to participate because of barriers beyond their control. Also, cost, access to resources, and limited local opportunities were preventing too many people across diverse age range from discovering what they were capable of.
We realized that interest and potential were not the problem.
Access was
CodeHero Foundation was created to address this challenge directly.
As a Canadian not-for-profit organization, our purpose is to expand access to Tech education for Kids and Teens (ages 7–17), Youths (18-54) and Seniors (55 & above) from underserved communities – so that their curiosity can grow into confidence, skills, and opportunity.
We are intentional about our role.
We are not a school, and we do not replace formal education.
We exist to remove barriers, create pathways, and support youths at the earliest stages of their Tech journey, as well as every other willing persons across diverse age range.
As a new foundation, we are committed to growing responsibly – listening to communities, building strong partnerships, and measuring impact with honesty and care. Our work will evolve, but our purpose will not.
We believe that when people are given access, encouragement, and opportunity, they don’t just learn technology – they begin to see new possibilities for themselves and their futures.
This Foundation is our commitment to that belief.
